It's like I hit this teenage age where this whole FAMILY-HANGOUTS-ARE-SO-TOTALLY-UNCOOL mentality kinda stuck on for a while.
I started skipping the family reunions, except for those major ones like Chinese New Year.
Oh how I would indulge in a torrent of creativity, faking a case of influenza, breaking a limb, attending a friend's relative funeral and the too often used ZOMG-NEED-TO-STUDY-FOR-A-SUPERDUPERAPLHAOMEGAULTRAMAJORCANNOTSCREWUP-EXAM. It's really no surprise if I was recognized as a nerd. Tsk.
Soon, I started skipping my own family dinners like "EEEEKS it's so uncool to be having dinny with mommy and daddy."
I would only go if they were dining at some ulu place or a super high class restaurant, just so that no one would recognize me. (Gosh, I'm such a retard.) The frequency of family dinners dropped after some time and it became normal for everyone to just... eat separately.
Even when mommy cooks, we either eat at different times or we sit at different ends. Then again, my house is kinda puny so we can't move far enough from each other anyway. Well, point is, we'd all be hanging around in the living room, eating at different tables.
It's like the theme for our new family tradition revolves around MYOB. (That's Mind Your Own Business, by the way.)
Wait, am I ranting?
What's my main point?
Oh, yeah,
I miss family gatherings.
Oh dear, you've wasted like 2 minute and 13 seconds reading this rubbish.

I just want to get it over with
Tears form behind my eyes
but I do not cry
Counting the days that past me by"
